Eye Exams
A thorough examination of the eye includes:
· A Comprehensive Patient History
· External Examination
· Visual Acuity, both near and far
· Eye Muscle Testing
· Pupil Evaluation
· Measurements of the front curvature of the eyes
· Objective and Subjective Refraction
· Glaucoma Evaluation
· Internal Examination of the eye with dilating drops or Optomap
· Contact Lens Evaluation and fitting, if applicable
· A Thorough Explanation of Your Results
· Time to Answer Any Questions and Concerns You May Have
Typically a yearly comprehensive eye examination will take between 30 and 45 minutes. Follow up visits for contacts generally take from 15 to 30 minutes.
Our optometrists are licensed to treat diseases of the anterior segment of the eye. Many conditions such as pink eye, allergic reactions and scratched eyes can be readily treated in our office.
